Management matters: the National Park Service and individual towns set their own access and parking rules. Follow each operator’s current notices rather than assuming one permit covers the Cape.
Atlantic · National Park Service
Coast Guard Beach, Eastham
The Outer Cape’s broad ocean shore has surf and a backdrop of dunes and the former Coast Guard station. The beach also borders Nauset Marsh, making it a compelling place to see how barrier beach and marsh meet. Conditions can be powerful; swim only where and when lifeguards are present.
Parking: From mid-June to Labor Day, the beach lot is restricted to Eastham residents and vehicles displaying disability placards; other visitors use Little Creek and the seasonal shuttle. Check NPS for current operation.

Marconi Beach, Wellfleet
A wide Atlantic beach below steep bluffs, with long views along the Outer Cape. The nearby Marconi Station Site is a separate overlook, not a route down to the beach. Stairs and surf make access different from a sheltered bay landing.
Parking: A seasonal National Seashore beach fee applies when collected; check current beach and stair access before traveling.

Breakwater Beach, Brewster
On the bay side, the retreating tide exposes broad flats and shallow channels. It is a place to explore the changing shoreline rather than assume the water will be close to the sand all day. Watch the tide and leave plenty of time to return.
Parking: Brewster requires seasonal town parking permits at town beaches; a federal seashore pass is not a substitute.
Official beach information →Cape Cod Bay · Town of Orleans
Skaket Beach, Orleans
Skaket faces west across Cape Cod Bay and is known for tidal flats. At low tide, shallow water and exposed sand create a very different experience from an Atlantic surf beach. Check the tide and keep children close as water returns.
Parking: The beach is town-managed; review Orleans parking and nonresident rules before arrival.
Official beach information →Buzzards Bay · Town of Falmouth
Old Silver Beach, Falmouth
Old Silver faces Buzzards Bay, on the western side of Falmouth. Its public section offers a saltwater beach without the Outer Cape drive; the town distinguishes the public and resident parking areas.
Parking: Use the public parking area and check Falmouth’s current fee, sticker and seasonal staffing details.
Official beach information →Nantucket Sound · Town of Falmouth
Surf Drive Beach, Falmouth
Facing Nantucket Sound, Surf Drive gives visitors a south-facing shoreline close to Falmouth village. The road follows the water here, making it a convenient beach stop without suggesting that conditions are the same as on the open Atlantic.
Parking: Falmouth’s beach information lists public parking and seasonal services; check current rules and availability.
Official beach information →Freshwater · Town of Brewster
Long Pond Beach, Brewster
A freshwater alternative to the saltwater shore, Long Pond is one of Brewster’s town pond beaches. It can suit a day when you want a pond setting rather than ocean surf; check current water-quality notices before swimming.
Parking: Brewster requires seasonal town parking permits. Long Pond is the town’s only lifeguarded beach in summer; check current guard hours and water-quality advisories.

Grew’s Pond, Falmouth
Grew’s Pond offers a freshwater swimming option in Goodwill Park, inland from the sound-side beaches. It is a different setting from a tidal shoreline, and water-quality advisories can change after rain or during blooms.
Parking: The town lists free parking at Grew’s Pond. Confirm current access and seasonal services before visiting.
